Is there any way of searching for a text string in the spreadsheet of datavyu (without exporting the data)?

There is no search function in the spreadsheet. It's possible to do this in a script (although this is unwieldy and only useful if you need to do additional coding on the matching values):

search_value = 'hello'
code_name = 'my_code'
get_column('my_column').cells.each do |cell|
  val = cell.get_code(code_name)
  puts "#{cell.ordinal}: #{val}" if val.include?(search_value)
end
