Hi! I am trying to import audio data from an mp3 file, and I received the following error mesage: "Could not open data source: Could not initialize class quicktime. QT session". Any information regarding how to correctly import these data would be greatly appreciated!

Are you on a Mac or on a PC? If you're on Windows, it's necessary to install Quicktime in order to use it for playback. Here's where you can download it - http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Otherwise, have you tried importing other files (such as another mp3 file), and what's the outcome?

Hm. I don't think you should have to buy Quicktime Pro and resave your files - mp3 already is a format readable by Quicktime. We've tested it on our end, and we're able to load mp3 files into the data controller on both Mac and PC without issues. Can you check the following things for us?

1) What version of Quicktime do you have? If you open Quicktime, go to "Help" then select "About Quicktime Player" it should tell you which version you have installed.

2) Can you verify that you can play your files in Quicktime itself?

Thanks for the information! I am using Windows and dowloaded Quicktime; however I am still receiving the error message. I notice that I am not able to save my mp3 files in Quicktime format, which might be part of the problem--does this mean that I will need to also download Quicktime 7 Pro?

Also, I have tried to import several different mp3 files, and I still receive the same error message. Any additional suggestions would be much appreciated!

I have Quicktime 7 installed on a PC. I tried to import the files again today, and they loaded without any trouble--so I'm not what the issue was before, but all is working well now. Thanks for testing this out!
