At first I could not add a data file - I tried converting to .mov, and then finally I tried a file that was recorded in .mp4 - nothing would ever open. I just updated to the lastest stable release and now when I click on add data file in the controller, nothing happens at all - it no longer even takes me to the "open file" dialog. I amusing a PC with windows 8, my JAVA and FLASH are updated, the processor is sufficient, I just don't understand. Anyone know anyting?

We were able to replicate the bug over the weekend, and this version 1.1.2 (you can download from should hopefully fix this issue. The problem should be gone, or you will be instructed in how to install QuickTime a little differently, and then the problem will be gone.

I have this issue as well. When I click "Add Data..." nothing happens. I've custom installed Quicktime as suggested. Have even updated Java, and updated to Datavyu 1.1. I've tried restarting the computer. Not sure what's going on. I'm on a PC, running Windows 7.

Please try downloading Quicktime 7.7.5 by custom installing it. You will need to opt into adding "Java Libraries" because it is no longer automatically included in the download. Please reopen the program and let me know if it works.

Here is the installation page that provides a picture of what the download will look like:
