Announcing the new Datavyu v1.3.6 with enhanced features and transcription support!

We are using datavyu (awesome program!) for a month now - some of my RAs had no problems getting the program to work, but now one of my newer RAs has encountered a problem that I don't know how to solve.

He installed the newest version on PC (including java and everything according to the guidelines). The program opens but when he adds a video - there is no picture, only sound. Datavyu works so when I move along the video with the controller, I can create cells and everything. The only problem is that there is no picture. We tried re-installing the program and using different videos (avi, mp4) but nothing helps.

Do you have a suggestion what to do?

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for posting the screenshot. It was very helpful. From this picture I can see that the video name 2407.. is on both the data viewer controller and on the video window.

Can you please send me a sample of the video that you see this issue? My email is vjf210@nyu.edu. I would like to do some testing to see if I can recreate the issue.

Also, we have pre-releases that you can download on the site so you can have the most up to date version of datavyu. Our current version is 1.2.2 and you can download it here: http://datavyu.org/download.html.

When you add a video, do you see a blank screen or is there just nothing that pops up? Frequently there is a small small window in the top of the screen that has to be dragged open to see the video.

Also, is there a file name on the timeline when you add your video?

Hi Vicky,

The video screen opens with the video in it but there is no picture - just gray screen..

I'm not sure what you mean by "a file name on the timeline"? The only place where I see the name of the video is on the video window itself. I open an opf file (e.g., ppt2207.opf) in the main window, and its file name appears on the tab (e.g., ppt2207).

Any help is greatly appreciated!
