When re-opening a file that has already been coded, OpenSHAPA searches for and loads the video file automatically. This works well, sometimes, but it is very slow when it can't open the video file. Is there any way to disable this feature?

The OpenSHAPA 2.00 (OpenSHAPA 2.00 no longer exists and has been replaced with OpenSHAPA 1.12) has a very inefficient search strategy for videos, we plan on replacing / repairing this in upcoming versions of OpenSHAPA.

... Development snapshots (freely available without password) have the inefficient search removed, you can download the snapshot from here: - you will need to be careful to backup everything before trying OpenSHAPA 1.12 it is still rough around the edges.

In the meantime, this will just delete the links for all the files in a folder on the desktop.

   filedir = dir = File.expand_path("~/Desktop/OpenSHAPA/")
   filenames =

  for file in filenames
    if file.include?(".opf") and file[0].chr != '.'
      puts file
      $db,proj = load_db(filedir+file)
