Hello - this question concerns how to set up coding columns for coding projects that involve trials. Should trial start/stop be one column, and the particular behavior of interest (here, looks left, right, or center) be another column?

Thank you for your insights and guidance!

We suggest storing the trials, their onset/offset times, and behaviors of interest that pertain to the trials in a single column. You can name the column "Trial" and using the Code Editor (found in the spreadsheet drop down menu), you can add your column, as well as the different codes.

You can add the code "fixation" (which you can define in an offline document ex. r=right, l=left, c=center and then code "r", "l", or "c") OR you can add the the codes "right", "left", "center" in the code editor (which you can code as "y"/"n").

Please also keep in mind that you can have multiple columns in a spreadsheet and columns can hold multiple codes.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
