Announcing the new Datavyu v1.3.6 with enhanced features and transcription support!

I can't get mp4 videos to work.

I am on a windows 10 PC, using quicktime, but the file is an mp4. I am using the most recent version of Datavyu as I downloaded it last night.

I can't get the file I want to load when I go to "add" data. I have tried more than one mp4 file. It says "Could not open data source: Could not initialize class quicktime.io.QTfile.

The file plays on my quick time viewer on my computer.

Do I need to convert them to .mov or is there a work around?

Thank you!

We had the same problem on Windows 7. We addressed this by converting the files to .m4v format (high quality .mp4) using Handbrake (link:[https://handbrake.fr/]).

There is a specific version of Quicktime that needs to be used on Windows 10. Please download and use Quicktime 7.7.6 because anything later than that as it won't install on Windows 10.
